In this year’s Magic Quadrant, GTT’s position on both axes improved compared to the previous year. GTT’s positioning is based on Gartner’s evaluation of the ability to execute and completeness of vision. GTT attributes this recognition to the company’s increased scale, market presence, and network reach. The 2019 report states that “Enterprises need greater agility from global network services to support cloud IT delivery.”
Telia to connect close to one million NB-IoT electricity meters for ONE Nordic
Telia has signed a deal with ONE Nordic AB to connect approximately 900,000 electricity meters for Swedish electricity distributor Ellevio. The ten-year-deal is the largest to date using Telia’s recently launched Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network. NB-IoT is a low-power-wide-area technology designed to deliver small amounts of IoT data on a massive scale.
Telia was the first to launch NB-IoT in the Nordics in late 2017. The NB-IoT standard was defined by the GSMA and builds on the security and stability of the LTE standard. It also forms part of the GSMA’s recommendation as the massive component of 5G.
